The Hosiery Essentials for the Season

Let your mind be free for this Fall/Winter! There are so many looks and ways to experiment with hosiery of all sorts this season. Whether you live in a cold climate where wearing such things are essential or if you are like myself and live in a warmer climate you still wear them anyways... :) Here I will give you my compilation of the 5 trendiest hosiery items that I believe could be an investment to anyones wardrobe.

1. Jeggings - The name is a combination of Jeans + Leggings. They give a tight fit like that of leggings, but with the appearance of jeans. Comfortable, and can be dressed up or down! Dress them down with some flats or knee-high/over-the-knee boots this season. Dress them up with some wedges, pumps or boots with heels.

2. Knee-High & Over-The-Knee Socks - Lets not shy away from the Catholic school girl look, because this season its for everyone! For the fashion risque try layering sheer/solid stockings with the socks on top, finished with some close toed flats or heels. It gives a cool street look or with a sheik dress a high-fashion look as well. They look very chic with some boots that allow the socks to poke out a little!

3. Stockings - Sheer, solid, printed, and even the intricate cut out patterns all should have a place in your wardrobe. Plain colored stockings can liven up any old black dress even in a business environment. Save the printed & the patterns for a night out on the town. They go great with any type of shoe from flats, to open-toed heels, pumps, boots, etc etc.

4. Shorter Socks - I left this into it's own category as it does not layer well on top of stockings. They go really well with some oxfords, ballet flats, or even close toed heels. They will compliment any high rise pants, shorts, or skirts.

5. Leg Warmers - Bring the 80's back! These pair great with stockings or even alone to compliment a day look or an evening look as well! I used to wear these a few years back along with some pumps and a dress to give my evening look a little jazz.
